Nyree Beattie

Senior Occupational Therapist

Location: Hornsby (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday afternoons and Fridays)

Meet Nyree

Nyree graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) in 2000 and has been a valued member of the Therapy and Learning Centre team for over 25 years. She is highly experienced in supporting children aged 3-18 years, helping them develop skills in fine motor coordination, motor planning, self-care (including dressing), and handwriting. Nyree is known for her ability to recognise each child’s strengths while thoughtfully guiding them towards their goals, working closely with families to achieve meaningful, lasting outcomes.

Nyree is deeply committed to early intervention, shaped by her own experience as a parent. She understands the complexities families face and brings both empathy and practical support to her work. She creates engaging, enjoyable therapy sessions that children look forward to, fostering confidence, independence, and a genuine sense of achievement.

Outside of TLC, Nyree is an active and dedicated member of her local community. She volunteers extensively, including roles as a team manager for touch football and netball, First Aider for her daughter’s league tag team, and Parent Assistance Coordinator for her local Little Athletics Centre where she coordinates over 100 parent helpers each week. A lifelong sport enthusiast, she has played at the same netball club since 1988 and, inspired by her children, has recently taken up senior athletics and touch football.
